Dear Missy;
You don`t mention in what way they are in bad shape, but let me assume the
paint is bad. You can rent a power sander from your local rental yard (check the yellow pages, or even Home Depot or Lowe`s). They will also sell
you the proper sandpaper and a couple of dust masks. Sand the cabinets down
to bare metal everywhere. Use masking tape to cover the handles, the locks,
and any other parts you don`t want painted. Then use cans of spray paint
such as Rust-oleum or another quality brand. Don`t buy the cheap stuff.
Apply by spraying VERY thin coats. Let each coat dry before applying the
next. If you are going to do the painting on the garage floor, be sure to
cut open some cardboard boxes to lay on the floor before painting.
Let me know how the project turns out.
